My main goal is to ensure kids develop a lifelong love of learning. I strive to help them become healthy and happy citizens who are successful and feel at home in their communities. I love the opportunity that elementary school offers to combine subject areas, and it's where I feel at home. I'm happy to work at Hawrylak, where my talented colleagues have fantastic ideas to share with each other!
I was born and raised in Regina, where I currently live with my husband. I attended the University of Regina and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Psychology. For my thesis, I studied Math processing concepts used by Grade 5 students. I enjoyed working with kids so much that I switched careers and took a Bachelor’s degree in French Ed, also from the U of R. I've been teaching for twelve years. I'm serving my fourth term on the Executive of our teachers' association. I'm also a Councillor of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation.
Outside of school, I swim (a lot,) read lots of non-fiction, cheer on the Blue Jays, hike in our great province, travel on breaks, and play Eurogames. I spend precious time with family and friends.
